AMENDMENTS INCORPORATED IN THE TENDER DOCUMENT

25.5 SHIPMENT THROUGH CONTAINER CARGO

1. Nature of cargo

a)  The shipment in container cargo should be not less than 43 Grade Ordinary Portland Cement      weighing 50 KG packed in polypropylene bags with inner lamination, stuffed in 20 feet container      having not less than capacity of 24 MTs.

b) The size of the container should be 20 feet (FCL), normal General-purposeContainer, which will     accommodate cement for easy Handling in the portthrough transporting medium trucks.

c) The bidder should obtain through Bill of lading from the mainline container operator who are     owning the liners and who will operate the routes to Chennai and Tuticorin .

d) The bidder should have the capacity to mobilise minimum 100 FCL Container per shipment within     15 days from the date of issuance of purchase order.

e) The minimum quantity offered by the tenderer shall be not less than 10,000 MT per month.

 f) The bidder should obtain minimum 14 free days from the date of discharge Chennai / Tuticorin     Port respectively excluding Saturday and Sunday from the liners for facilitating the customs     clearance and Harbour formalities so as to clear the cement without demurrage.

g) The 20 feet container should be sea worthy, no moisture, and no water content and free from any     damage to stuff  cement in the containers and for easy transportation and to ensure proper     delivery of cargo.

h) Partial and transhipments are allowed provided the container should be intact and duly sealed.

i) The tenderers are requested to indicate the following delivery schedule in respect of supply of    cement in containers. The following information should also be indicated in the Part A of the tender:

1.Time taken for transport of containers from the factory to the Port of exit.

2.Time taken for formalities like loading into ship, obtaining documents etc

3.Expected time of the ship to sail from the Port of exit to reach Chennai Tuticorin Port.

4.The minimum quantity, which can be arranged in container at a time for Shipment.

5.The shipment details available from their sources of supply to the Indian Port of    Chennai and Tuticorin Port whether the shipment is available Weekly / fortnightly /    Container service.

6.Supplier should mail the shipping documents to us immediately on departure of the    ship at the loading point.

7. It is the responsibility of the supplier that the documents may be made available at    our end 10 days prior to the berth of the ship at Tuticorin / Chennai, so that cement    can be cleared within the free time allowed.

15)TENDER EVALUATION CRITERIA:

c) Lowest evaluated price per MT will be determined on the basis of     comparing the lowest  rates  offered in PART-B- 40.1,PART-B- 40.2 for     the same port in respect of break bulk cargo and through container.

26) PAYMENT TERMS

2) The L.C. will be opened depending upon the quantity booked /loaded for       each and every shipment in phased manner .
